Shipping policy
1. Costs
GLS Parcel shipping costs are not included in the product price and are calculated and displayed at checkout before payment for enabled Italian and international destinations. The cost of the service originally purchased is final and is not subject to subsequent additional charges. The applicable tax treatment is that applicable to the individual transaction. Purchases, shipments, or requests for quotations through this procedure are not available for destinations not enabled at checkout.
2. Multi-supplier fulfillment and split shipments
The same order may be fulfilled by different suppliers and logistics locations and delivered in multiple GLS Parcel shipments and/or parcels, including on different dates, with separate tracking numbers. Collection is organized by logistics location according to the operational availability of the suppliers and GLS, in compliance with the fulfillment deadline indicated in section 4.
3. Tracking
Once GLS has taken charge of the shipment, the tracking numbers are communicated to the Customer through the shipping notifications. The same order may have multiple tracking numbers. The possible early generation of a code does not necessarily indicate that the carrier has already taken charge of the goods.
4. Fulfillment and delivery times
Fulfillment, meaning the handover of the goods to GLS, takes place within 7 business days from effective payment; in the case of bank transfer, from receipt of the funds. After handover to GLS, delivery is estimated at 3–5 business days in Italy and 5–10 business days in Europe. Transport times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination and operating conditions; smaller islands and remote areas may require additional time. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
5. Possible delays
The Seller is not liable for delays not attributable to its sphere of control, such as strikes, weather events, traffic restrictions, or carrier delays, to the extent permitted by law. In the event of issues, the Customer may contact support for assistance in managing the shipment and, where applicable, opening a case with GLS. The mandatory rights and responsibilities provided for under applicable law remain unaffected.
6. Inability to fulfill
If a producer reports that an item is unavailable or it becomes impossible to fulfill the order or part thereof, the Seller informs the Customer and refunds the amounts collected for the products that cannot be fulfilled and any related costs that are not due, or proposes a replacement agreed with the Customer. No replacement is made unilaterally.
7. Label language
Products are normally supplied with the original labeling in Italian. Upon a request made before the order, Sicily’s Finest Food guarantees the availability of a translation of the information shown on the label, agreeing with the Customer on the language and method of delivery. The translation does not automatically entail the application of physical multilingual labels. The labeling and food information obligations applicable in the country of sale remain unaffected.
8. Destinations and restrictions
Shipments are available exclusively to destinations enabled at checkout. Certain items may be excluded from specific destinations due to regulatory or logistical constraints. Unavailable destinations are not served through requests for quotations or an alternative procedure provided for in this notice.
9. Delivery, attempts, and storage
GLS delivers to the address indicated by the Customer, who is responsible for its accuracy and completeness and for the presence of a contact person. In the event of an incorrect or incomplete address, absence at delivery, or another circumstance attributable to the recipient, only any documented additional costs for storage, release, redelivery, or a new shipment may be charged. The reason and amount are communicated to the Customer. These are additional services or events, distinct from the final cost of the shipment purchased at checkout. Costs arising from errors attributable to the Seller are not charged to the Customer.
10. Inspection upon delivery and reports
The Customer checks the external integrity of the parcels upon delivery. In the presence of evident damage, where possible, the Customer records a specific reservation on the carrier’s document, describing the irregularity, and documents the condition with photographs before and during opening. Reports must be sent to ordini@sicilyfinestfood.it with the order number and photographs. The Returns, Damage, and Refunds page applies with respect to deadlines, documentation, and authorized returns, without prejudice to mandatory rights.
